Have you used tea as an ingredient in cocktails and mocktails? It adds depth and flavour with very little effort! You can try the recipe below with any black tea. We like the Mad River Black Currant or another flavourful fruit-infused black tea.
Not sure how to make simple syrup? It's super easy. Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar has dissolved. Watch the pot so the sticky liquid doesn't overflow. Allow to cool. Keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
2 tsp Mad River Black Currant black tea (or other fruity black tea!)
2 cups water, room temperature
1/4 cup strawberries
1 tbsp simple syrup
ice + sparkling water
Add the black tea and strawberries to a pitcher with room temperature water. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
Remove or strain out tea leaves. Stir in simple syrup to sweeten.
Add ice and extra strawberries to a glass. Fill 3/4 of the way with the cold brew tea, then top with sparkling water.
