This Fall, a healthy twist on a delicious standby! Feel good about your pumpkin spice addiction.

It’s October. As we strap ourselves into windbreakers, and witness the colours of leaves shift from green to red, it’s easy to be wistful about a friend who visits us at this time of year. No, we’re not talking about the Great Pumpkin. We’re talking about pumpkin spice.

Check out our brand new seasonal blends and scroll down for recipes!

Pumpkin Spice Matcha

Pumpkin spice latte is a good comfort now that temperatures are getting cooler, but be careful! The standard order for a 16oz. pumpkin spice latte at a typical coffee chain contains 380 calories. That’s 38 grams of sugar, or 9.5 teaspoons! Yikes!

Luckily, we at Amoda have a solution for all you pumpkin spice junkies who don’t want to pay the calorie price: Pumpkin Spice Matcha. Enjoy the rich creamy taste of typical pumpkin spice with no added sugar, fillers, or flavours.

But our Pumpkin Spice Matcha is not just a delicious low calorie alternative to coffee chain offerings. Matcha is well known as an energizing, catechin-boosting superfood. We’ve also added adaptogenic chaga mushroom and pumpkin pie spice to give it an extra dimension of flavour.

Golden Pumpkin Turmeric

Do you think we’re just content with Pumpkin Spice Matcha? Like the flavour fanatics that we are, we couldn’t be content with just one seasonal latte mix. So we had a bright idea: Golden Pumpkin Turmeric.

Not only is Golden PumpkinTurmeric (with its golden hue) absolutely beautiful to look at, it’s incredibly unique. Turmeric is world-renowned for its earthy-sweet taste. The health benefits of turmeric are also well known. It contains a natural anti-inflammatory compound and dramatically increases the body’s antioxidant capacity.

Combined with coconut milk and real pumpkin powder, Golden Pumpkin Turmeric is a cozy drink like no other. Add hot nut milk for additional comfort during those cool Autumn days.

Don't stop at lattes!

These are versatile blends that do well in all sorts of sweet and savoury dishes. They're a simple addition to oats, yogurt bowls, popcorn or nice cream. Try the Golden Pumpkin Turmeric in rice or soup! The possibilities are endless, but here's two recipes to get you started:

pumpkin spice turmeric granola

Golden Pumpkin Turmeric Granola [Vegan/Gluten Free]

After making your own granola, you'll never go back to store bought. You can customize the ingredients to your own preference - any of the nuts, seeds, dried fruit and spices that you like. The version below is honestly the best granola we've ever had. Here's the recipe, which is based on Sweetly Raw's recipe.

2 cups gluten free oats
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup shredded coconut
2 tablespoons hemp hearts
Small handful of raw walnuts, broken up
1 tablespoon Golden Pumpkin Turmeric
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons maple syrup
3 tablespoons melted coconut oil
2 tablespoons coconut sugar

Preheat oven to 300ºF. Mix the oats, nuts, seeds, coconut, Golden Pumpkin Turmeric and salt. Mix the maple syrup, melted coconut oil and sugar together and pour evenly over the oat mixture. Stir together until evenly coated. Spread out over two baking sheets lined with parchment paper.  Bake for 35 minutes. Your granola should be golden brown.

pumpkin spice turmeric loaf

Golden Pumpkin Turmeric Loaf

This loaf is packed with delicious ingredients! Turmeric, pumpkin, carrot, chia, coconut and cranberries. The great thing about loaves are they aren't super sweet, so you can top them with whatever your heart desires. Here's our take on Vegan Richa's recipe:

Dry Ingredients:

cups of gluten free baking mix like this one. You can also make your own mix using Vegan Richa's gluten free option.
tbsp chia seeds
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp Golden Pumpkin Turmeric
3 tbsp dried cranberries

Wet Ingredients:

1 heaping cup of chopped carrots
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tsp lemon juice
3/4 cup nut milk

Preheat the oven to 365ºF.

Mix the dry ingredients together.

Add the wet ingredients to a blender. Blend until carrots are mushy, but not completely smooth. Pour the wet mixture over the dry mixture and fold until just mixed. Drop the batter into a greased loaf pan. Bake for 50 - 55 minutes. Use a toothpick to check if it's done. The toothpick should come out clean.
