ALMOST EFFORTLESS - MATCHA ICED TEA

It’s Iced Tea day, so we thought we’d ditch the lemons and start a new tradition this summer with Iced Matcha Tea instead! It’s the perfect summer indulgence for those looking to add a little pep, without the usual jitters iced coffees may bring and it’s a great way to introduce matcha into your life if you haven’t fallen for it already.

For those who already love and carry our matcha, you’re in for a real treat because most can be used for this recipe. We do recommend our Ceremonial Matcha though, because let’s face it, this matcha begs to be sipped straight and therefore can’t be beat (especially as a summer treat!).

Our Ceremonial Matcha is grown in in Uji, Kyoto prefecture, and matcha from this area is known to not be bitter. Organic, shade-grown, and authentically stone ground, this high-grade matcha is rich and creamy in flavor and she’s full-bodied with a sweet finish. MATCHA ICED TEA

Serves: 2
Prep Time: 2 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup fresh herb sprigs (+ a few more for garnish)
  • Mint, thyme, tarragon or basil
  • Mix and match herbs depending on preference
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1-2 teaspoons of our Ceremonial Matcha (best for sipping straight!)
  • Sweetener to taste (if desired)

Instructions:
Add ¼ cup herb sprigs to shaker or large Mason jar
Use a muddler (or the back of a wooden spoon) and muddle herbs to release their oils
Fill shaker or jar with some ice
Add both cups of water, and Ceremonial Matcha
Add sweetener if desired (though our Ceremonial Matcha is sweet)
Shake for 30 seconds or until matcha dissolves
Pour into chilled, iced filled glasses
Garnish with remaining herbs

Serve immediately and enjoy!
