Bourbon and tea. Sounds like a nice way to to warm up the season, right? This is our bourbon and apple cider-sweetened winter cocktail recipe. Even if you're not typically a bourbon drinker, you may be surprised at how tasty this cocktail is. It's super easy and only has 4 ingredients.
The flavours of bourbon and cider go really well with the warm baking spices, citrus and apple in the Holiday Chai. This is a unique black tea chai that's perfect on its own or mixed into a holiday beverage. Here's what you need to make our Holiday Bourbon Cider Tea Cocktail:
Ingredients:
- 1 heaping tsp of Holiday Chai (or another tea with chai spice and a citrus note)
- 1 oz bourbon (we like Bulleit)
- 1 oz real apple cider (available in grocery stores like Whole Foods)
- cinnamon stick for garnish
Instructions:
Steep a cup of Holiday Chai for 5 minutes. Strain the leaves and pour into a mug, leaving a little room to add the cider and the bourbon. Add the shots of cider and bourbon. Garnish with the cinnamon stick and enjoy! That's all it takes.
If you have a few days, you should try actually steeping the tea right in the bourbon. Use a mason jar and a couple teaspoons of Holiday Chai (or similarly spiced tea) per 1 oz bourbon. Or, you can use a tsp of the tea and add some extra whole spices and a cinnamon stick. Steep in a disposable paper filter right in the mason jar for 2-3 days.
