Apple Pie Oatmeal

Oct 1, 2022 · Brainiac · recipes

Seasonal apples and warming spices meet lion's mane and rhodiola in this cozy bowl of oats that will help you start your day off right! Rolled oats are toasted with butter until golden and fragrant, which gives the oats a nice flavour and texture. This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled and meal prepped ahead of time, so you can have a quick cozy brain-boosting bowl of oats every day of the week.

If you're new to adaptogens, one of the easiest ways to introduce them into your life is by adding them to your oats. Our Chai Latte Blend with lion's mane and rhodiola pairs perfectly with apples to make a warming bowl of oats, or it can be whisked with water or milk to make a comforting and caffeine free chai latte.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 small apple of your choice (we like using royal gala)
  • maple syrup
  • cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 sachet Amoda Chai Latte Blend
  • 1 tablespoon butter, ghee, or coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • pinch of salt

METHOD

  1.  Dice the apple and set aside a few slices for garnish. Add to a saucepan with maple syrup and cinnamon to taste, plus a splash of water. Cook on medium-high until apples are softened, about 5-6 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
  2. In the same saucepan on medium heat, melt the butter. Add the oats and toast for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden. Be sure to stir constantly to ensure the oats don't burn.
  3. Add the apple mixture to the toasted oats, along with 1/2 cup of water. Cook on medium heat until you reach your desired consistency, adding more water as needed. Stir in the Amoda Chai Latte Blend.
  4. Transfer the oats to a bowl and garnish with the apple slices, plus any of your favourite oatmeal toppings.

To make this recipe ahead of time, double or triple the recipe. Allow to cool before refrigerating for up to 5 days. To reheat, add the oats to a bowl with a splash of water and microwave for 1 minute or until hot.
