Adaptogen Iced Lattes for mental energy

Herbs are perfect for times when you've exhausted your brain power or energy - after a cold, a big trip, exam period or client project at work. They're also incredibly helpful to start taking before you reach that point - if you know these potentially stressful scenarios are on the horizon.

We've taken these helpful plants and herbs - matcha, eleuthero (siberian ginseng) and maca root and created the ultimate latte mix to activate your mind and boost your energy. But first, here's a bit more about the eleuthero and matcha.

Eleuthero is an adaptogenic and immunity boosting herb. Adapta-what? Adaptogens safely help your body adapt to many different types of stressors. They mediate the body's stress response and support adrenal function, thereby counteracting the negative affects of stress. Eleuthero has a long history and is a herb used greatly In traditional Chinese Medicine. We love the way eleuthero improves endurance and mental and physical performance. 

We've blended it with matcha in Activate Matcha to benefit from the calm energy and antioxidants that matcha provides. Together, they promote a sharp mind and a calm alertness. Plus, you've got maca, another adaptogen, and spirulina, an incredibly nutritious and nourishing ingredient. 

ACTIVATED LATTE

1 tsp Activate Matcha Powder
1 cup of your favourite milk (we like oat milk)
1 tsp MCT oil (2 tsp if you're used to MCT)

Heat your milk if you like. Blend up all the ingredients. Pour into a mug and sip hot or pour into a glass of ice for a summertime sip. 

If your milk is hot and you're using a blender, be sure to remove the centre piece of the lid and place a towel over top of the lid when you blend to avoid hot splatters.

Fancy something chocolatey? Cacao and maca are a great pair when it comes to lattes. Maca is also an adaptogen. Both cacao and maca are rich in minerals, vitamins, phytonutrients and amino acids. This latte is mood enhancing, hormone balancing and energizing without the jitters or spikes. 

MACACAO LATTE 

2 tsp Matcha Bliss
1 cup of your favourite milk (we like oat)
1-2 tsp MCT oil
½ - 1 tsp of honey or maple syrup

Heat your milk if you like. Blend up all the ingredients. Pour into a mug and sip hot or pour into a glass of ice for a summertime sip. 

If your milk is hot and you're using a blender, be sure to remove the centre piece of the lid and place a towel over top of the lid when you blend to avoid hot splatters.
