Our much-loved pumpkin spice latte blends are back! Using real, organic whole food pumpkin powder and our in-house blend of pumpkin spices, we’ve created a caffeine-free turmeric-based latte mix and an energizing matcha-based latte mix. Around for a limited time!
Why real pumpkin? It’s pretty simple really, why drink artificial pumpkin flavouring when the real thing tastes incredible! Pumpkin is naturally sweet and super nutritious!
Pumpkin is a great source of potassium and beta-carotene, which the body converts to Vitamin A. This is an essential vitamin and helps to promote eye health. Pumpkin also contains vitamins C and E. Together, beta-carotene and these vitamins support healthy skin and protect against the sun’s harmful UV rays.
We love pumpkin spice lattes, but with 380 calories and 38 grams of sugar (that’s over 9 teaspoons!!), it's hard to actually enjoy drinking them. Of course, treating yourself to a grande Starbucks PSL a couple times during the season is totally okay, but wouldn’t you love to drink them as much as you want? And if you don’t want to drink coffee, you can’t enjoy a PSL? We had to change that!
That was the impetus for creating our Pumpkin Spice Turmeric and Pumpkin Spice Matcha blends. So we asked, how do we create a PSL that’s inline with our values of always using whole food powders and extracts, no fillers and no artificial flavourings? With plenty of experimenting, we perfected our recipes in-house and made them super easy for you to make at home.
What else are we featuring in our PSL blends? Turmeric, matcha and chaga mushroom! Keep reading to dig into the health benefits of these feature ingredients.
Turmeric
Turmeric is well known for its anti-inflammatory benefits and positive effect on gut health. The digestive benefits are due to the curcumin and the volatile oils found in the root.
Why is it important to consume anti-inflammatory foods? Inflammation is a silent killer. When your body is experiencing chronic inflammation, it is a more susceptible host to serious diseases (cancer, alzheimer’s, heart disease). It’s a great idea to get your turmeric and curcumin from multiple sources throughout your day - be it combinations of extracts, supplements, golden milks, curries or turmeric teas.
Adding a Pumpkin Spice Turmeric latte or a golden milk to your daily routine is a pretty enjoyable way to increase your dietary consumption of turmeric!
We are obsessed with mixing matcha and mushrooms, so we couldn’t help ourselves when we formulated Pumpkin Spice Matcha... we snuck in some chaga mushroom. Since pumpkin spice lattes are a cooler weather favourite, it made sense to include the immune-support mushroom, chaga.
Chaga
Chaga is an adaptogen and an immunomodulator. It helps increase our resistance to physical, emotional and mental stress and helps our immune system become more responsive to those stressors.
Chaga is also energetically grounding. You can think of being grounded as having a strong foundation to stand on. Being ungrounded, you may feel as though you’re in your head and not in your body. Overthinking or emotional strain can push us out of the moment, ungrounding us from our environment.
To whip up a latte, just add 1 sachet or a heaping teaspoon of the blend to a little hot water. Whisk it up and then top with your favourite oat, coconut or nut milk.
