Senakw Village

A herbal blend of Hibiscus, Rosehips, Black Currant, Cranberry, Blueberry, Elderberry, Lemongrass, Rooibos

Senakw, or Snauq, is the ancient name for False Creek. If you aren't familiar with Vancouver, False Creek is a short inlet that separates the downtown core. Senakw Village was located where present day Vanier Park is. It was once a salmon gathering and berry picking place. For the owners of The Capilano, the red colour of their Senakw Village blend is evokes visions of the red of the salmon and the land covered in berries. It brings thought of a strong traditional food source. Traditionally, the berries would have been mashed, dried and made into berry cakes. The berry cakes look similar to the Senakw Village blend. Michelle and Paisley, the owners of The Capilano have added some global ingredients, like Rooibos, to the tea to kick up the flavour and add even more health benefits to the nutritious berries.

Roots and Chai

A green tea blend of Organic Mao Jian Green Tea with Elder Berries.

Roots and Chai was created along The Capilano owner's quest for nutrition - as a way to incorporate dandelion root into something delicious she could have everyday. Michelle has been drinking dandelion root for a long time, loved the herb and quite simply, wanted to drink it more. So, she added beetroot for minerals and natural sweetness. We love this quote on their website by an unknown author: “When you look at a field of dandelions you can either see a hundred weeds or a hundred wishes.”
