Turtles are a classic treat to gift around the holidays. Why not go the extra mile and make them yourself? With just a handful of ingredients, you'll be able to make this impressive indulgent treat in no time.

RECIPE (Makes 12)
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 1/3 cup pecans, plus 36 pecan halves
- 100g dark chocolate bar
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon Amoda Cacao & Reishi
- optional: flaky salt*
METHOD
In a food processor, combine pitted dates** and 1/3 cup pecans until a caramel-like consistency forms. If needed, add up to 1/4 cup of warm water by the tablespoon to help it combine.
On a parchment or wax paper lined plate, scoop 1 heaping teaspoon of the date and pecan mixture. Top with 3 pecans, pressing down. Repeat 11 more times. Set aside.
Meanwhile, break the dark chocolate bar into pieces and melt over a double boiler or in the microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring in between. Once the chocolate is almost fully melted, add the Cacao & Reishi and coconut oil. Stir until smooth and glossy.
Drizzle the chocolate over the dates and pecans, and transfer to the fridge or freezer to set. Wrap in a beautiful box to gift to a loved one, or keep in the fridge to enjoy.
RECIPE NOTES:
* Flaky salt is optional here, but it makes for a beautiful presentation and also brings all the flavours together.
**If your dates are dry or tough, soak them in warm water for 15-20 minutes. Discard soaking liquid prior to blending.
