Hi, my name is Tegan and alongside our tea curator, Lu Ann Pannunzio, we carefully and intentionally choose and taste each and every tea available in your monthly tea subscription. I’ve been matching people to high quality teas made from ethically sourced ingredients for over 10 years now. All of our teas are created by small makers so you can discover unique artisan teas.

How do I customize my monthly box?

Choose a subscription above then click the “Customize my box” button. The box builder will pop up where you choose your first four teas. New teas for the month are at the top or scroll down and choose from our current inventory of teas. We’ll email you each month when it’s time to log in and customize your next box!

How does gifting work?

You will choose the teas for their first box or you can let us choose by adding the "Surprise Me" teas. If you've entered the gift recipient's email address, they will be notified right away of the gift via email along with the personal message you entered. They will be notified each month when it's time for them to login and customize their next month's box. Read more in the FAQs at the bottom of the page.

Shipping times

Subscriptions placed ordered before the 25th of the month ship out within 2-3 business days. Subscriptions ordered after the 25th ship out the first week of the following month.

After you receive your first box, your shipping date for the next month will move to the 1st of the month. Details in the FAQs below.

Meet Your Monthly Tea Box Curator

Lu Ann Pannunzio has been involved in the tea industry for over a decade. She is the writer of well-known tea blog, The Cup of Life and author of Tea-spiration. She joined the Amoda team as Tea Curator for our monthly boxes in the summer of 2019.

Lu Ann has her finger on the pulse of the tea industry and can always be counted on to find fun, unique tea blends handcrafted by small tea companies throughout North America as well as special pure teas. Helping our subscribers find a new favourite tea each month is her favourite part of the role.

FAQs

If your address is in Canada, you will not receive your shipment during the strike. We will ship it out as soon as the strike ends. You can choose Courier Shipping at checkout for a fee to have the box ship with an alternate carrier.

We use Canada Post oversize letter mail to offer free shipping to you. Unfortunately, we cannot offer free shipping using other carriers.

USA subscriptions are not affected by the Canada Post strike.

If you subscribe between the 1st and 24th of the month, your first box will ship out within 2-3 business days.

If you subscribe between the 25th and the end of the month, your first box will ship out the first week of the following month. E.g. if you order on August 26th, the first box will ship the first week of September.

Subsequent Monthly Boxes in your subscription ship out the first week of the month. See next FAQ.

After your first box ships, you will be moved to a next shipping date on the 1st of the month. If you subscribed on or before the 20th, your second box will ship on 1st of the next month. If you subscribed after the 20th, your box will ship on the 1st of the month after next, so your boxes don't arrive to close together.

Example: You subscribed May 18th - your first box ships. outright away and your next box ships out the first week of June.

You subscribed on May 22nd - your first box ships out right away. The box after that will ship out on July 1st.

Canadian boxes ship via oversize mail with Canada Post and do not come with a tracking number. USA boxes shipped at the beginning of the month do have tracking. USA boxes shipped the rest of the month, do not have tracking.

Typical shipping times:
Local Vancouver orders arrive within 1-2 business days
Other BC - 2-3 business days
Rest of Canada - 3-10 business days
USA - 5-10 business days

Yes! You'll be able to choose the teas for your first box during the subscription checkout process. For subsequent months, you can log in and customize your box in the last 5 days of the month. You can choose from our vast inventory of teas of all tea types. We add 4-6 new teas each month.

Yes! You will be able to choose the "Surprise Me" tea when you customize your box. Every month, your selections will default to Surprise Me teas until you select different teas. You can leave them as Surprise Me.

You will be shipped the default selection of new teas for the month. This will be a mix of all tea types. Typically this includes 2-3 black teas, 1-2 green or white teas, and 1 rooibos or herbal tea.

For monthly subscriptions, you are charged right away for your first box and then on the 1st of each month after that. For 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions, you will prepay for the entire length of the subscription. For example, 3 months subscriptions will be charged $60 at the time of purchase, for all three months. Shipping is always free on all subscriptions!

Unfortunately, we do not currently ship internationally, yet. We're working on it, so check back soon! Currently, boxes can be shipped to anywhere in Canada or the USA only. Would you like to request we ship to your country next? Send us a quick note and let us know!

Gifting FAQs

Gifting a Monthly Tea Box can be done easily. Choose the length of gift from the Monthly Box Page - 3, 6 or 12 month gift plans are available. Check the box next to "This is a gift". Enter the recipient's name and email address and an optional note to the recipient. We send them an email upon purchase letting them know you've gifted them a tea subscription!

Note: Your personal message is emailed to them. It is not added inside the physical box.

Important: make sure to enter the gift recipient's shipping address at checkout, not your own!

Currently, our system emails the gift recipient immediately and let's them know that they've been gifted a subscription. The only way to make a gift subscription a surprise is to enter your own email in the gift recipient's email field when checking out. Please note that you will need to email us to request the email be changed to the recipient after the first box ships so that they received the email reminders to customize future boxes and can log into their account.

You can customize your box in the the last 5 days of the month by logging into your account. We will also send you an email 5 days before your next order and you can log into your account to choose your teas.

Yes! Monthly subscriptions can be paused through your online portal. Login here. If you do not have an account, you can sign up for one from this page. If you are having trouble logging into your account, please email us.If you are a gift recipient and you need to pause your Monthly Box shipments, please email us.

Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled through your online portal. Login here. If you do not have an account, you can sign up for one from this page. If you are having trouble logging into your account, please email us. Monthly box subscriptions are charged every 1st of the month. Cancellations done after the 1st of the month cannot be refunded.

Gift subscriptions cannot be cancelled.

Unfortunately not. Everyone's boxes process on the first and get pushed to fulfillment immediately. We start assembling boxes as soon as the 1st rolls around and we don’t have the people-power to make changes after that time.

If you didn’t like one of the teas you were sent, we’ll be happy to replace it in your next month’s box! Just send us an email and we’ll get that sorted out for you.

We do not offer refunds on the subscription box or individual teas received in the box, but if you didn’t like a tea, we will ship you a replacement in your next month’s box. Just send us an email and we’ll get that sorted out for you.

No, unfortunately not. Once the first of the month hits, we start assembling and shipping. We are unable to pull your box from production once that process begins.
